The offshore LNG solutions being developed by Technip use a combination of the Group’s Onshore and Offshore branches.
In-house proven technology from gas process plants, flexibles, platforms, FPSO’s, installation and commissioning, mean that EPCI contracts for the LNG industry are fully controlled and can be delivered on time.

Technip is an industry leader in all methods needed for liquefaction, storage, loading/offloading, and regasification in an efficient and cost effective manner, for all marine environments.

Integrated multi-deck platforms for liquefaction and LNG storage

Conventional LNG tanks housed in concrete provide full storage facilities, while the integrated topsides house standard equipment required for gas treatment and liquefaction, depending on the project requirements and size of the LNG train.

Gravity based concrete structures for storage and regasification

By separating the three functions of storage, regasification and transfer, the double problem of lead-time and CAPEX can significantly be reduced. The use of a compliant LNG offloading system will increase safety and minimise weather downtime. All industry accepted regasification methods can be easily installed on the platform decks.

A complete range of compliant transfer systems

The cryogenic flexible with its aerial and floating options is the key link to compliant LNG loading and offloading systems. A family of solutions is now available for tandem, side-by-side and exposed jetty configuration, whilst the LNG Marine Terminal with floating flexibles further enhances safety by totally separating the process facilities from the LNG carrier.

FSRU for LNG reception and regasification

A floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) can be purpose built or be a modified LNG carrier. Technip can ensure that all process equipment is fully marinized and integrated onto the deck, whilst use of the compliant transfer system for tandem or side-by-side operations will ensure that weather downtime is kept to a minimum.

FPSO – LNG: Floating Production and Storage Offshore for liquefaction of natural gas

By the use of standard onshore equipment and techniques, most approved liquefaction processes can be used offshore. The marinization of this equipment to account for the movements of the FPSO in offshore conditions as well as the marine environment will be taken into account. Full safety and security aspects are built into the deck layout.

Cryogenic Pipe-in-Pipe: a rigid cryogenic pipe-in-pipe for onshore and offshore (subsea) projects

The Technip cryogenic Pipe-in-Pipe uses state-of-the-art material such as invar® inner pipe for minimal contraction or expansion, and high performance insulation material to reduce gas boil-off. This ensures fast and efficient construction and installation and reduces maintenance costs.

LNG Marine Transfer System: an LNG Marine Transfer System using floating cryogenic flexibles

By reproducing the same principles as used in marine terminals for crude oil, weather downtime can be minimised. In addition standard mid-ships manifolds can be used. By the complete separation of the process facilities and the LNG carrier, safety aspects are also enhanced. This system can be used for offshore or coastal process facilities, or the LNG can be piped directly to a shore terminal.
