Approach

Technip’s commitment to sustainable development took form in 2001 with the drafting of the Group’s Values Charter and the creation of its Ethics Committee.

In 2003, the Group became a member of the United Nations Global Compact. Launched on the initiative of the U.N. General Secretary, Mr. Kofi Annan, the Global Compact unites companies and United Nations organisms around ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption.
Since September 2003, Technip has been selected as part of the Dow Jones World and European Sustainability Indexes.

In 2004, a Sustainable Development Committee was established to coordinate the approach within the Group.

In drafting its Annual and Sustainable Development Report, Technip complies with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, the most widely-used reference in non-financial reporting. In 2009, the Group chose to have the conformity of its approach verified by the GRI.
