The Orkanger spoolbase
Technip operates a spoolbase ideally located in Orkanger, near Trondheim on the west coast of Norway to service the mid-Norwegian Shelf developments planned for the coming years.
Pipes, typically ranging in size from 4 to 16 inches in diameter, have been produced since operations began in 1995.
When carrying out subsea projects in the region, Technip's reeled pipelay vessels Deep Energy and ApacheII spool pipe at the Orkanger Spoolbase. The spoolbase has had a major upgrade over the past two years to increase pipe handling capacity to the 20" pipe that Technip's new pipelay vessel Deep Energy, which will work worldwide, can reel.
