Technip has been operating in Ghana since 2009, when it was awarded the engineering, procurement and construction work for the subsea equipment of the first phase of Jubilee field development. Technip has been strongly invested to support Ghana with its industrial development and has been a pioneer in the Oil and Gas industry in the country. Indeed, in 2010, the first oil was delivered from the Jubilee field, it was the first offshore world class field developed in Ghana.
Capitalizing on this success, Technip established its first representative office in Accra in 2010 and inaugurated its Ghanaian Engineering Company (a Joint Venture with GNPC, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation) in November 2012. Prior to that and through Jubilee’s activities, Technip managed for many years, operational implantation in Takoradi and Sekondi areas, developing a strong relationship with local community.
